1969 Kawasaki W2ss 650. November 2015
Quite rare here in Australia and rest of the world really, Japan would have the most of them still, quite a good following there.
I found this facebook page. Japanese W1 W2 Facebook Page
The bike below arrived here about 6 months ago, although it sat for many years the seller was right when he told me motor was good, it needed little, couple of new bearings in the dizzy is about it.
After usual carb clean and timing etc it ran top notch.
I then just proceeded to do the safe riding things and cosmetic improvements. I did score another parts bike which gave me a few nicer parts than what was on mine.
Stuff I did included, new tyres, drive chain, wheel bearings, neck bearings, rebuilt wire harness, frame paint, new rear shock absorbers, new tach and speedo cables, new mufflers and that lovely blue white paint.
Some pictures below, there are a few large so give em time to load. I am on facebook so you can catch up with me there is you want, I post pics of my builds there too.
PS, I have a new seat cover here and it will go on in the next week or so.
Chris Dupen. Owner netbikes com au, since 1995.
Small vid of first running.
Since the above vid I have done a few miles on it and the brakes are bedding in nicely. Also the seat now has the correct cover, looks sweet.
